There are better terminal programs available but you need to provide more info on your
intended application.

Telnet?
Porttalk?

Please provider more detail.

To do this you need a cross cable to connect com port 1 to 2.
For more information on cable, visit "Data Interface a Tutorial on Data Interface and cables" (http://www.arcelect.com/rs232.htm).

Hi. i'm trying to use hyperteminal to simulate a project using a modem.

Hi pinoytsikboy,

If you are working in Proteus, use the COMPIM model in the DSN and a terminal program to communicate with it.

To do this, yes, you must be using a cross cable:
To do this you need a cross cable to connect com port 1 to 2.
For more information on cable, visit "Data Interface a Tutorial on Data Interface and cables" (http://www.arcelect.com/rs232.htm).

But if your PC doesn't have two COM ports OR you don't wish to make any cables, you can be using a virtual serial port program, it can to make this without any cables.
You can download it (for ex.) here (the RS link is working, tested):

Hope this helps.
