It's a very accurate LC meter. I have it working from years. Highly recommended! I cannot see the link for the firmware but if somebody is interested I can provide it.

After how many years..I'm back on this thread to update... Grin

I successfully built my LC Meter...

Reading on 33pF ceramic caps..

15pF..

2.2nF

1000pF 1nF

Seems weird on coil..

here is a reading for 100uH coil.

another 100uH

I wonder if who's telling the truth...the Coil or the meter?  Sad

Not a problem with post, but why not post it as a full project in projects forum.

In a similar version of this project the author inserted a calibration code, I didn't check if there is also one in this one but the heating up time of the components greatly affect measurements. The system must be calibrated after some time after it is powered. I had made the similar project I mentioned and when calibrated after a few minutes after it was powered the errors were acceptable.

Hi,

I am thinking of building this one:
http://www.hobbielektronika.hu/kapcsolasok/lcm3_alkatresz_mero_muszer_-_kit_lehetoseg.html

Sorry, it is hungarian, but you can use google translate:
http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=hu&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=hu&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hobbielektronika.hu%2Fkapcsolasok%2Flcm3_alkatresz_mero_muszer_-_kit_lehetoseg.html

capacitance 1pF ... 0.1F
inductance 10nH ... 20H
ESR up to 500mOhm
In circuit ESR measurement

It measures also the capacitance of inducttors, and correcte the inductance measurement with this.

Best regards,
mris

Not a problem with post, but why not post it as a full project in projects forum.

just wanted to..but still gathering enough documentation for posting as full project..Cheesy

This version includes calibration via software...also has the option to manually calibrate to standard value...

The problem I encountered with the INDUCTOR side is the coil itself....it was marked with 100uH but reads 82uH...tried other coils and they all give close to printed values reading...

are there any links hate for the calibrated version?

This is the version I constructed....

@hodahel: Sry I couldn't notice a button for calibration in ur pics and considered it didn't have calibration. It might be a tolerance and brand issue for the bad readings.

@metal: It's been a long time since I constructed it and don't remember which one I constructed but the hardware was the same with the ones posted here. Probably just a clone. I have the schematic and code though, I can post them if u like.

The image image above was taken when was I was just stuffing the board with parts..Cheesy

I'll upload the complete image later...

EDIT: Here is the picture of complete project....the RESET switch is right beside the LED...Cheesy

I'm into building this one too...bit hesitant because of language used on that site..
