Hi,
what kind of regulation you want to use,
by the mean value or by the instant value of the current.
You can use a IC regulator like TL494 ot SG3524 with proper
feedbacks.

Hi

If your 'spot welding' machine uses power from mains and a big transformer to put low voltage/high current in welding electrodes the eaysiest way is to monitor current in electrodes (secondary side) and use this as feedback for a primary side control. (triac with phase angle command)
Are trying to reduce current as metal begin to liquefy ?

Regards

Tell me voltage primary(of course AC) , secundary(of course DC) and Amps you need for that, maybe using igbt to output. You will need one circuit to prevent from direct contact (some miliomhs).
