This is a Bug Detector that can detect small transmitters and RF sources.
Range: 10 Mhz - 1.8Ghz with a sensitivity of 5mV (10Mhz) to 30 mV (1.8Ghz)
It is build around the MAR6 MMIC IC.
It is a project found in the Radio Electronnics magazine June 1989.

page 1 is OK but

You can built one with the AD8317 easily. This give you a range from 1MHz up to 12GHz !!!
I have successful tested this. It's more sensitive then the MAR-6 one.
For singnal strenght display you can ad a LM3914, a analog display or a PIC with LCD...

The only bad thing is that the IC is very small, little difficult to solder.
