You could read this book " Microprocessors: From Assembly Language to C Using the PICI8FXX2 " by Robert B Reese . The author had a web site with some C18 code. Please check http://www.reesemicro.com/

The best book for C118 in this moment is the user guide itself; you can use also the code snippets from microch*p page.
