Hi! I just registered at Sonsivri. To be precise 25 June I received "Welcome to Sonsivri" message in my e-mail box. Next day 26 June I received the message from <[email protected]> with attachment - zip archive with exe-file mimicking as mp4. This is the very first time I've received such garbage on this address. This is my very rare used address - only 46 messages for 2014, 220 for 5 years and no spam at all. Sonsivri was the fifth public place where I used this e-mail. Earlier I used it 3 months ago registering in NETGEAR. That is background for my suspicions.

So, people, what is your opinion about subject?

I almost got a heart attack getting an email telling me that my warning level have changed... You should use it as your profile pic, with all respect to Roger...

What you don't like my profile pic?
Funny getting a warning level has changed don't work on 95% of members that go on to a full mute.

Edit: Checked system and we have no users with a vodafone.pt email account.

You didn't provide enough information, but you likely set up your profile with your email visible (I see it isn't now).

With at least a dozen or so pirates likely in this community of honest, upstanding, citizens, what did you expect by having your email address out in the open? Flowers and a thank you card at your door?

I did not change my profile since registering. I left email not visible from beginning.

And here I thought I was the only one expecting Flowers and a thank you card....:-)
Sooner or later you will get spam in any email box.
This was the fifth public place ? So you have 4 other sites that all could be hacked to harvest email addresses... in light of heartbleed, I would not find it surprising.I would suspect Netgear forums long before this place , as we are very small target compared to most other places.  I have a separate email addy just for this site ( as I do for most "special" sites that I frequent)  and have not received any spam.

I would say just coincidence seeing as your the only one complaining about it
The internet is full of low-lifes who send spam from anywhere they can hi-jack a site
last piece of spam I got was from a church's website that got hi-jacked by spammers Smiley and usually the fake site is gone before you could even respond to the mail if you were foolish enough to click their link

Well, I see that I was not clear enough. I try to correct myself:
I am not moaning about my troubles.
I am not so naive not to understand risks.
I did not offer to discuss my mistake of using inappropriate mailbox.
I just enlighten the forum about observed fact with short overview of background.
I am not going to enumerate possible causes that could bind that fact with sonsivri forum - if my warning makes sense here are more qualified
 persons than me.
Single fact means almost nothing. But without single cry seagulls can not survive Wink

And to be fully precise I do not offer to discuss seagulls Wink

That is the kind of response I wrote my message for!

Anyway any kind of responses are welcome too.

I joined a Neuroscience newsgroup. Two or three times a week I received an email from this young lady:

who said for $5.00 (paypal) she would send me her "revealing" pictures.

I've sent her almost $300.00 and offered to marry her twenty-two times, and STILL haven't got any pictures!

I think this may be spam, so Signal, I can sympathize with you. I am very disappointed too.
