This connector is very common.
Try digikey, mouser, future, newark, Jameco....
A little searching, you will find it in stock.

I think the description would be SMD DIL 0.1 unprotected header

thank you for all your answers;

yes this is a common connector but the distributor classification are not optimize.
May be my translation from french to english was not good enough.

but all my search for " smd or smt pin header" gave me bad result.

best regards.

its a Samtec connector, I bought many about 5 years ago.

so get a Samtec  catalogue, work out the part number, then go buy from a distributor in your country

http://www.samtec.com/Documents/WebFiles/Current_Literature/SAMTEC_F-213_CATALOG_lores.pdf

page 212, the TSM series is what you want (assuming 0.1" pitch)

I have some 16 pin versions, 2.54mm pitch, you can cut them down of course to make a 16+4=20

If its just 2 or 3, i will send you some if you send me a pm with your address.

Looking at the Picture i guess it is a common connector with 2.54mm pin spacing. If i was in your place i would have happily used the through hole one by carefully bending the pins to 90 degrees. Even if you accidently break one pin, you can easily slide the new one by pulling the damaged one out using a plier.

@ old_but_alive.  thank you for your sharing intention, i think i will order some 2x40 for my stock. i will contact you if i failed to find a distributor  that want to deliver to my country.

@ pusycat : i tried this first but the result is not good enough for me.

i actuallly want to use them to redesign a double sided 7 segment display board where the connector was mount at the buttom side.

farnell have them, and I am sure you can get them in France

http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/browse.jsp?N=2031+204643+110149834+110201457&Ntk=gensearch&Ntt=samtec+tsm&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&No=0&getResults=true&appliedparametrics=true&locale=en_UK&divisionLocale=en_UK&catalogId=&skipManufacturer=false&skipParametricAttributeId=&prevNValues=2031+204643+110194755+110149834&mm=1002208||,1002541||,&filtersHidden=false&appliedHidden=false&autoApply=false&originalQueryURL=%2Fjsp%2Fsearch%2Fbrowse.jsp%3FN%3D2031%2B204643%26Ntk%3Dgensearch%26Ntt%3Dsamtec%2Btsm%26Ntx%3Dmode%2Bmatchallpartial%26No%3D0%26getResults%3Dtrue%26appliedparametrics%3Dtrue%26locale%3Den_UK%26divisionLocale%3Den_UK%26catalogId%3D%26skipManufacturer%3Dfalse%26skipParametricAttributeId%3D%26prevNValues%3D2031%2B204643

copy and paste ALL of the link

this one looks OK

http://uk.farnell.com/samtec/tsm-110-01-t-dv/header-2-54mm-smt-20way/dp/2056037

 farnell code 2056037

they have several different types, so make sure you compare and choose the correct one.

It looks like a .05" spacing connector to me, not a 0.1"

this is really a 0.1'' connector. But this is not a problem for me because i design my own board with eagle. so i have the choice of the connector i want to use.

Okay,

Well Tyco, 3M and Samtec should all have readily available solutions from most major distributors.  Thru hole version will be a little easier to get but the SMD version you show shouldn't be that hard either.

Here is a starting point:

http://www.digikey.com/scripts/dksearch/dksus.dll?FV=fff40016%2Cfff802f3%2C700785%2C70078c%2C1600022%2C1680002&k=connector+header+0.1%22&vendor=0&mnonly=0&newproducts=0&ptm=0&fid=0&quantity=0&PV69=3

you can cross ref the manf part numbers with a distributor in your country.
