Quote from st1-64 txt file:
ST1-64 is a virtual machine running on a PIC16F84 micro, that interprets the intermediate code,
stored in the internal on-chip 64 byte EEPROM memory.
The machine is fully compatible with Parallax Basic Stamp 1 Basic interpreter with the only exception
- the program memory has only 64 bytes (instead of 256 in Stamp I).
The compatibility includes compatible download protocol and debugging facilities.
So, does someone have sourcecode of these hex files, so that a version can be made for the 16F628
(with more memory)?

What is your motivation for extending the usage of the Basic interpreter? Basic Stamps seem to have fallen out of favor. With the introduction of Arduino (and I am in NO way an Arduino fan) it seems that it would be simpler to use that platform and C instead of Basic.

I am still a Basic fan, mainly to motivate others, for example to configure the things I produce.
And also a single chip is (in some circomstances) more elegant then a complete platform.
But you're right, a platform like Arduino has more possibilities of course.

@ the OP: This is great work - but I cant figure out exactly when I'd use it, as proton is more or les basic stamp compatible so I could jsut sompile anything to pic rather than tokenize it?
@ Yoda : Have you checked out that "Amicus18" system Crownhill are pimping as an alternative to arduino - its AFIK pin for pin compatible with arduino shields and is programmed in a FREE version of proton - that will only ever compile for the pic used at the heart of the Amicus18 setup - the PIC18F25K20
