Dangerous Prototypes has a version of this circuit too.

The circuit as given is suitable for 3.3V devices. For 5V, like my box full of 7128's, the divider resistors can be removed. A nicer modification would be to add level translators, with the output side powered from the target's VDD. That's what the original USB Blaster does. Then it will work with any voltage devices.
