I need to implement text recognition from digital picture (made by camera) into my dsPIC project.
I tried to find any SDKs for that purpose but not success.
Anyone works already with that? I need to make recognition of car plates (registration number) from picture taken from camera.

You really may want to look into a processor with a bit more horsepower.. ARM.. Blackfin/SHARC.. are a few that come to mind..

The dsPIC is a very capable processor, but image processing (especially at higher resolutions) is a VERY CPU intensive task...

I suggest you to make  this project on your PC first. If you succeeded, convert codes the microcontroller you used.  As PilotPTK said, this project may be harder than you think.

I already did it on computer. So it was very helpful idea from PilotPTK about ARM or similar MCUs. After a long time of using of PIC mcu's I am totally forget about other technologies Smiley
So anyway I will collect docs of ARM cpu/mcu's
