In the voice of Homer Simpson "I only use the nice shiny red cable from the pickit3, to use on my pickit2".
My line manager goes mad that the pickit3 is still in stores, keeping the icd2 company.

The only way Microchip can save face is to give the user, better funtions than the pickit2.
but I would settle for the same stand alone & gui as the pickit2.
