Is probably good news.  Microchip has deep pockets, so it should be big benefit for HiTech.

Yep, deep pockets indeed. Like the time they wanted to buy Atmel  Shocked


I've seen HI-TECH, and since it's ANSI C, you must be good with the PIC architecture.

Still much better C compiler than Microchip C18 (speaking from my own experience).
