Hi
Trying to use the screamer bootloader for 16f876A and hitec c as a toolsuite in mplab 7.20.
Not being a 'c' programmer yet, I can't get the compiler / linker to correctly re-locate the code to be compatiable with the bootloader, spent hours looking on the web to no avail.
Can any pic 'c' programmer explain in simple terms how it's done?

Regards

Try to use MikroC as the compiler. thats a good compiler for a new c learner. you can download it from :hxxp://rapidshare.com/files/87962587/mikroElektronika_mikroC_for_PIC_v8.0.0.0.zip.html. the bootloader also included in the compiler examples.

I downloaded the Bloader from Sparkfun site and used the asm file for 16F876A and it assembled fine with MPASMWIN. The probable cause for Yr. failure can be that the jump vector for Bloader is 3 instead of the usual 2 vector. It also compiles OK with Knudsen CC5X compiler(Red version) which can be found elsewhere on this forum...
