Has anyone got the firmware file for the GTPUSB PLUS programmer that SakCyb so kindly posted the schematic for. I have tried the GTPUSB firmware and it does not seem to generate the programming voltage.
Thank you

It looks like the only way you are going to get this one to work is to order the pre-programmed PIC from Sisco, he was off line for some time but is back at a new website:

http://www.winpic800.com/

If I was you I'd try this one posted in another thread, it looks good and is free:

Sorry I have not better news for you

thank you for the information Ihad a look at the winpic website. he is now selling the PCB chip and firmware as one package and is not selling the firmware separately. I liked the look of the Brenner8 circuit on www.sprut.de. Ihave started building it and I'll let you know how it works out.

Thanks again

Hi I built the brenner8 programmer. It works fine. The circuit board is well laid out and easy to solder. He has kept the clock and data lines well separated and so reduced the oppotunity for cross talk problems. I have programmed a 18f25550,12f675,16f877,16f877a and a 16f84 with it successfully although for the 877 and the f84 I had to use the ICSP connector.the designer deserves congratulations on his hard work.

Hi mizk electro
All the up to date stuff is available from the website www.sprut.de. Look under brenner8. Everything is there. If you cant speak German do a search on Google and get google to translate the page. this is what I did.  If you have problems downloading it let me know and I will post thefiles.

Are you sure this hex for GTP-USB [plus] programmer firmware. If I'm not mistaken, its GTP-USB Lite Programer.

Can you use this firmware with latest Winpic800 latest version ?

if you load the hex and watch the eeprom area you see that it is the firmware revision 3.55...also known as  gtp usb summer edition...it a pro version...but the firmware will not work with the latest winpic800...it will only work with winpic800 v 3.55 perhaps with v3.60. i've build it a long time ago...it works good but my brenner8 from www.sprut.de is better...and completely free...

In my opinion, melabs U2 Programmer is the best. It can be found at http://melabs.com/products/usbprog.htm.
However there is no clone for this circuit. There are review that brenner8 is quite good. But i've never build one
yet. Coz its not in english. Haha. Grin I'm using EPIC and i'm very satisfied with it up to now.

I suport best usb programmer as the pickit 2.
It will auto program your pic chip on update of hex code.
just tick the box Smiley

also you can use the pickit 2 as a USB to Serial interface lead.

see http://www.picbasic.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6782
Quote
Pickit 2 now has a Auto Inport Hex + Write.
This works like a charm leave the box ticked and Pickit 2 will auto load your code as it's complied in PDS.

An other thing you can do with Pickit 2 is you can use it as USB to Uart coms.

Any idea which hardware will program a 18F6722 ?

I have a JDM type programer and WinPIC800 3.61.

The software does not recognise the device.

Any help ?

You people who keep asking this must have an awful lot of spare time and love frustration?
Just buy a Pickit2 and you will never be asking which programmer will program such & such chip# again because it will do them all and is constantly being upgraded by Microchip.I 've built 5 differant programmers, why you ask because I needed all 5 to program just to do the everyday pic's everybody use's,now I don't have that problem.you can't beat the price for what you recieve in the package so quit spending all your time making programmers that just don't meet all your needs.then maybe you'll have more time to make the project instead of figuring out how your going to program the chip.
I wish I had all the time and money back I've spent screwing around so called cheap and easy programmers, cheap yes, easy yes, useful not really.
