hi
has anyone else used the z80 7.80pl2 compiler?
I've tried running it and get an 'compiler not installed properly' error.
have tried altering the creation date of the hidden files under the /lib directory but haven't been succesful.

I've since been in contact with aplank and the original z80 package works ok. From what I can see the original package modifies the install program and you do an install rather than copying the installed packages. HTH |

I've got what I need thanks. However I believe that the package for the z80 compiler that has been released as part of the platinum package has issues and isn't working. Someone else trying to use it could have the same problem. I don't have a 100% understanding of how the installation checks for a correct install but I'd suspect that there is something either machine specific and/or time specific that hasn't been bypassed. |

If you have 64-bit versions of the compilers then please upload them! If you are having problems activating the 32-bit versions on a 64-bit OS then please post the output from the keygen. I've tested the keygen on Windows 7 (64-bit) and it worked without problem. You must start with a clean install of the compiler; if you have applied any other patches then re-install the compiler. |

Very strange; I tested on Windows 7 64-bit and results are below. Maybe this is a language issue; you are not using english Windows 7? Things to try: 1. Restart MPLAB; you need to restart MPLAB for changes in compilers to show. 2. Open a command prompt and type (maybe adjust for your language): "C:\Program Files (x86)\HI-TECH Software\PICC-18\PRO\9.63\bin\picc18" --ver Post result. 3. Open registry and check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HI-TECH Software\PICC-18\PRO\9.63 Do you see Activation and SerialNo keys? |

I tested it both in Chinese Language Windows XP&Win7(64bit).
It is Ok in XP, It is not in win7(64bit).
In win7(64bit), I tested Picc-v8.05PL2 and picc18-v8.35PL3, They works well.
