Hi;

I am intending to use the RTOS on the ATMEL AT91SAM3X8E processor. Basically running RTOS on Arduino DUE.

Anyone can provide advice on how to do this?

Thanks in advance!

I agree, I use it in a couple of projects but with STM32.

You can check if there is already a port for your micro, but if there isn't you can check for the porting guide on freertos website and you can easily port to you MCU

if you have experience about posix programming and the performance cost of the posix layer is not important for you, may be you can use Nuttx.

if you need relatively small, fast, deterministic system, ChibiOS (RTOS+HAL) or Micrium's RTOSes are better then FreeRTOS..

You can also ask the question "Do I really need an RTOS in my project" Do I have critical real time issue in my project that require the use of RTOS?

In most of the project I have done - there was no need for RTOS simple RR algorithm + timer was more then enough..... and I have done so many micro project.....

All the best
