´What Proton IDE version do you use?  If You use Metals excellent version, just uninstall it and shoot again. Be sure to manually specify the location of the Proton 2.2.2 Beta compiler when IDE asks for it.
Good Luck

your compiler version 2.20.You move this file into c:\ and rename GLCtest.bas and try to compile.
Compile so sensitive.Your file dont be existing 8 or more chrecter and location must be so simple.

For those with a very limited budget, here comes a free C-compiler from Knudsen, a free IDE and .dll:s which has to go to certain place in order to communicate with the parallell port. The GIVEOI.SYS goes to C:\Windows\system32\Drivers. When you'r done with that run the file TESTIO.exe. If You hear a synthesized song, You're on!
I also put a lin k to David Tait: LVPprogrammer. Haven't tested it yet.
The thing You need is a breadbord and a hex-inverter chip besides the PIC of course.
Let me know how Your doing.
Regards
