Hi there,

I have a iges file that contains an aircraft model made out of sheets/faces with zero thickness.   Is there any other software out there that can give the aircraft panels thickness?  (e.g. I want to model the thickness of the material so I need to convert the 0mm thickness sheet model to one with 0.8mm thickness). Some of the panels are too complex for simple extrude and it will take too much time and cause clashing geomentres. I heard that 3-matic from materialise is able to to this through some kind of wrapping process. I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with this software ? If not can any experts out there recommend other CAD software that can produce a close solid (with thickness) from a sheet model?
