Reason for convergence problem can be type of circuits topology (H bridges, systems with several grounds, etc.) or simulation algorithm. If you want acceptable results, sometime you must have enough experience how to define circuit in form which is good for simulator. Cadence 16.x has improve simulation algorithm (about convergence problems) and in some cases it give good results. You must enable this option in simulation profile. If you want more help, attach your circuit.

Messing around with some of the settings usually helps.
