Title: Posting protocol for Subject Line
Post by: Parmin on December 09, 2007, 10:56:59 22:56
I think it should be made as a rule for every new request topic should have a preamble [REQ]
This way, the reader would be able to glance as to whether the post is a request or a share.
eg. the post topic should be like this
[REQ] Anti Gravity System   <-- show What the OP need
not like this
Anti Gravity System   <-- did the OP have a system to share? did the OP want to discuss? too vague!!

Also,
I get tired to open an interesting topic header and inside it is a one liner, something like:
"anybody got a crack copy?" or "schematics anybody?" or some other similar stuff.

I think if the poster want us to help, then they should give a good background so we could help better.
It would be a great waste of time when an answer is given then the OP say, "no, thats not what I mean".
Well if the OP describe the problem better in the first place, then there should be no misunderstanding
and all the answers would be useful and efficient.

anyhow, thats my 2 cent.

I have to agree with you on this for the same reason's.It would sure make surfing through messages a lot easier to know what it was without reading it directly, maybe Sonsivri can add a few icon's to the new topic page 1 for sharing and 1 for Required that would be mandatory to click one just like it's mandatory to put in a "subject".I don't know if he can or will but it's a good idea

I wish to add this options but no time left for me. In fact "clear understandable" is already rule. REQ isnt rule but I will add a button or icon for it. I will hand it over in my spare time.
