Post by: vxd_andy on August 24, 2010, 05:30:46 17:30
Hello,

I found this while searching for ARM JTAG programmers:

Open JTAG Project http://www.openjtag.org/ (http://www.openjtag.org/)

It may be of interest to someone.

Andy.

very interesting !
I am many years that use the parallel port/ jtag adaptor   for the micro msp430.
Unfortunately the new PC does not have the parallel port and
with the adapters commercial USB/LPT does not work

The Open JTAG project seems really interesting, does anybody know if it works for communicating with Xilinx devices and whether it works under Linux?

What I used in the past is a design based on the Cypress CY7C68013A USB controller found at:

http://ixo-jtag.sourceforge.net/
http://ixo-jtag.sourceforge.net/archive/ixo_de_usb_jtag.html

I used an official Lattice USB JTAG pod and reprogrammed it to be a USB Blaster compatible for Altera devices...
This site has also information regarding the CY7C68013A and Xilinx XPCU adapter...
