hi,
here is massive load shedding in our region :'( :'( :'(
im just fed up wid it :'( :'(
please give some idea guys.... i just want my pc to remain ON when lite goes of..
what different , easy ways can i adopt to achieve this ??? generator/ups
or can i make something by myself?? dc to ac  ??? ???

please help people

You have three options....

1/-UPS...need to size for load and outage period + some slippage..

2/-Inverter...Convert DC from a battery bank to AC, same as above with load etc..

3/-Generator set...Would only be usefully if outages were at consistent times, you can rig them to start automatically.

The problem with the inverter is your batteries will need to be charged after each cycle so...
the UPS would be a better solution, don't bother trying to build one as they are reasonably priced.

Gen sets are more expensive than UPS but if you can scavenge the parts the cost will
drop. You still have to deal with noise, exhaust smoke and having to supply fuel.

I think the UPS is probably the answer.

Hi, I would suggest you use a Solar panel for charging your online UPS . Solar energy will keep your system online , the most easiest and pollution free ways , I have setup a small solar powered remote plant for a company in hills and its working for the past six months without any problems, its rated capacity is 800VA.
