Title: Suggest an HMI Controller
Post by: itp on December 08, 2015, 12:02:32 12:02
I am in search of an HMI controller module ( HMI controller means a Human Machine Interface with Builtin PLC)
for controlling a  power supply.
My requirements are as follows.

HMI size:     5.7"   Colour
Digital input : 8 Nos
Digital Output : 8 Nos
Analog input: 4Channels, 12bit  (Voltage input)
Analog Output: 2Channels 12bit (Voltage Output)
Comm ports: Ethernet, RS232
Built-in Web-server for remote HMI access.
Software for above controller configuration and user interface design.

Please suggest a product with minimum cost.

Thanks and regards
Itp

Mostly you will find these as two separate pieces:

Automation Direct makes some modest cost PLC/HMI combos
Siemens S7-1200 units can be surprisingly cost competitive as well if they  are hungry for market share in your area.

The processing power of the PLC and quality of design software will also play a role in how much this costs.

Hi,
I need a 16-bit Analog output module with a stability of 20ppm/deg.C or better for this project. I could not found any yet. Can anybody suggest one.
Next option in front of me is to design a micro controller based card with a highly stable 16-bit DAC (Like LTC2602). But how to  interface this card with an HMI. Any Idea.
