Title: OrCAD simulation with crystal Post by: diamadiss on November 15, 2009, 08:02:04 20:02 Hello. I want a help with OrCAD. I try to simylate the circuit with crystal i picture. The problem is that give error in simulation with crystal. Also i want to use cstal with frequency 2MHz and i didn't found. If use crystal from wrong library. If anyone can help me. Thanks!

With a crystal you can break it into its equivalent components parts: capacitance, resistance and inductance. You create a tank circuit this way and then try to make it oscillate at its fundamental frequency in SPICE. (Good luck) Crystals are very simple physically but very complicated to understand and model. Remember they are electro-MECHANICAL devices with very peculiar properties. You are swimming into very deep SPICE waters.
