Title: Church bell electrification
Post by: zzilot on December 01, 2008, 08:56:51 08:56
Hello

Has anybody some resource about Church bell electrification system. The bell I'd like to supply with automatic ringer is about 500kg, I want to use 3phase motor with inverter. I need some consideration about motor and pendulum connection, and motor control and power. The idea is next, motor should be started, and in some intervals (when pendulum passes equilibrium) motor would give extra energy to the pendulum, and quite after, until pendulum next passes through equilibrium in oposite direction when motor should start again, and so on.

This is what the bell resembles (except the wheel on one side, there is no wheel in my case, so one should me mounted)

You can use an escentric cam based  drive.
