Title: SDR transceiver - FPGA vs DSP
Post by: Kwaigo on December 17, 2010, 10:42:55 22:42
Hi!

I`m going to build software digital radio transceiver.
Device consist from I and Q channel AD/DA converters, IIR (may be FIR also) filters, spectrum analyzer, digital/analog signal detectors, etc.
Wich is better suitable: Altera Cyclone III FPGA or AD`s BlackFin DSP?
Multichannel signal processing required, and low power consumption advisable.

Best regards, Kwaigo

I would go for FPGA and Cyclone IV. You could interface a really fast ADCs using LVDS channels.
