Title: Altium Export Gerbers
Post by: diamadiss on December 11, 2013, 10:52:29 22:52
Hello,
When I am going to save my gerber files in altium always shows me a window with a tab "Gerber Export Settings" (picture 2). Does anyone knows what exactly are digits and which are serving. Thanks.

I don't quite understand what you are asking...

The settings you refer to are how accurate you want to output to be, do you want .01 , .001 or .0001 resolution?  Due note that chances are most PC board manufactures are not going to go beyond .01 (metric) or .001 (imperial) in most applications...

If you have a specific board company you use, they would be the one to contact in regards to their preferred output, although most are pretty flexible nowadays...

In the first picture is the accuracy but in the second picture what are the digits (integer 3 - decimal 2)?

Actually you don't need to change default setting , because most of gerber viewers or cam /cad processors are able to auto recognize different settings . Just select the layers to be plotted in gerber format and leave the rest to cam tool . I personally prefer ODB+ because it is full compatible with all cam processors and you don't need to worry about settings .
