can anyone guide me in this situation..........i have to start DSPs from grass root level.....
before that I have done AVR and ARM programming (ATMEGA88 and aduc7026) and their development boards, but I am facing difficulties to start with DSP's

Hello

I've worked with DSP TMS320C6713. This model was embedded in a developer kit from Spectrum Digital.
Although your model is different, it belongs to the 6000 family.
If you want to build a customized kit, a good staring point would be the TMS320C6713 schematics. They can be found in this link:

I think Spectrum Digital doesn't have a development kit for the 6720.

Best regards

Hello jeniusj

Sorry for the late reply.

What kind of examples are you looking for? As I said, I've worked with TMS320C6713 during a semester in a digital signal processing chair.

Essentially I've played with digital filters (FIR) with Kaiser window and made a 5 band audio equalizer with adjustable gain (GEL and RTDX). The filters coeficients were calculated using some .m files I've created in MatLab. My function generated the .h file ready for C.

Another project I've made was: using a common class 3 red laser be able to transmit audio between two buildings, using of course the 6713. The points of interest related to the DSP are: FM modulation and digital PLL.

I also made some tests using the 6713 and MatLab simulink. Another test I've made was connecting the c6713 kit with LabView DSP module.
I've concluded that simulink is a good tool, but you are easily overwhelmed by the options. The LabView DSP Module in my opinion is a very expensive add-on taking in account the capabilities of the software. If you need to make some virtual instrument with the existing blocks you are in the good path. But if the existing blocks don't fit it's very hard to develop custom ones.

If I can help you with this topics, let me know.
