Title: Battery monitor with ability to complete device cut-off
Post by: movf_jmpz on July 16, 2013, 08:27:41 20:27
I need to design battery monitor piece of hw that would be able to cut-off the whole device from the power source (LiPo / LiIon battery pack). It will be nice if cut-off current is real 0 or near 0 (few pA/nA).
Have you seen such design?
Thanks in advance...

Normal Lipo/LiIon protector circuit do the protection for over current, over voltage and under voltage protection. Isn't it what you want? Googling it you should found many reference.

You'll find a vast amount of information on batteries and battery management here.  Have a look at the Battery Testing and Monitoring section.

Thanks TrimmedProbes, but I don't want to learn about batteries and more of this pseudoscientific/not-very-specific blablabla like on batteryuniversity.com. I was asking for specific design, maybe some clues about specific IC's or rather cheap & simple solution based on few passive/active components or MCU with ADC & maybe some xxxFET as a switch.
The maximum current requested from battery would be about 1A peak.
