Title: [ReQ] GCode Creater From dxf, svg for Laser Cutter
Post by: Elysion on January 29, 2015, 12:36:52 12:36
Hi,

I use InkSpace to create/import dxf,svg and use the below extensions to export gcode for laser cut ready gcode files.

ru.cnc-club.filter.gcodetools_laser    --  by Nick Drobchenko
think|haus laser gcode exporter       --  by Peter Rogers (based on Nick Drobchenko's system)

Do you know any other methods for creating gcode files from dxf, svg paths?

Thanks,
Oguz

Edit: please say it's a request in your post.

My understanding is that SheetCAM can be used to create laser cutter G-code.

Search for SheetCAM on this site for access to the software.

cut2d :dxf to gcode (gcode cnc with .tap extension)
mach3: gcode to machine

Proteus ARES/ISIS also create dxf files. ARES also exports gerber files which contains gcode files.
Although, I know all these details, I am unable to get my mini cnc to operate correctly. (Because I don't know basic things like scaling etc.) I end up with an SMD resistor measuring 15 cms or so :)
