Title: Ascii Video Terminal
Post by: boba on April 08, 2021, 02:46:14 14:46
This isn't my project , just one I've built, so apologies in advance if that's bad practice.

I'm a vintage DEC computer enthusiast. I'm always a bit loathe to use the vintage terminals as it's difficult to fix things like tube or line transformer failures. Most VT100 emulators don't quite cut it. I've built one of these:
https://geoffg.net/terminal.html
which does a pretty good job especially if you use instead the improved version:
https://github.com/petrohi/terminal
which passes the standard VT100 emulation benchmark and makes a decent job of using the old operating systems etc.

Hi, if you like VT100-like terminals I've done a VT100-like terminal with RS232 and a "transparent" port to attach a common serial-USB adapter.

The project page is here (https://hackaday.io/project/176716).
