For the latest version 6.10.25 fix does not exist yet but if you need the latest cnc editor only here are the steps to fix it by yourself(the safest way to do it): 1. Download the original installer from cimco: http://www.cimco.com/products/download/CIMCO_61025.exe2. Install it. 3. Using any hex editor replace the following in the file cimcodnc.exe file offset: original content: replace with: 0xCB85 0F 87 90 E9 0xCC47 0F 85 70 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0xCC54 0F 8D 63 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0xCC69 0F 84 4E FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 4. Do the same for the file cimcoedit.exe file offset: original content: replace with: 0x8FDF5 0F 87 90 E9 0x8FEB7 0F 85 70 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0x8FEC4 0F 8D 63 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0x8FED9 0F 84 4E FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 (optional:) 0x215BBC DEMO Version 0x00 Sonsivri 0x00 5. Enjoy several more years of evaluation of this product. 6. If you really like it or need it for commercial use please BUY it! Happy Holidays!

I've just had quick play with it and wow what a program it is I'm very impressed with. I've sorted out how to mill a PCB Just need to learn now to draw what I need to, Like cutting out LCD hole on a plastic case and convert it to G-code. I know how to draw but it's converting it to dxf then convert to G-code but just need to learn how to set it up and cut the depth of it and stuff like that
Good work Hosmis and the others who help too!

Try using the latest version 6.10.47 downloads: http://www.cimco.com/products/download/CIMCOEdit6_61047.exe (ONLY THE EDITOR INSTALLATION) or http://www.cimco.com/products/download/CIMCO_61047.exe (EVERYTHING) Follow the same procedure above replacing steps 3&4 with: 3. Using any hex editor replace the following in the file cimcodnc.exe file offset: original content: replace with: 0xCB85 0F 87 90 E9 0xCC47 0F 85 70 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0xCC54 0F 8D 63 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0xCC69 0F 84 4E FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 NOTE: The fix for cimcodnc.exe is exactly on the same place like in version 6.10.25 so it is not a mistake that I provide the same information for step 3! 4. Do the same for the file cimcoedit.exe file offset: original content: replace with: 0x901C5 0F 87 90 E9 0x90287 0F 85 70 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0x90294 0F 8D 63 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0x902A9 0F 84 4E FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 (optional:) 0x215C14 DEMO Version 0x00 Sonsivri 0x00 I'm still using CimcoEdit5 (5.60.80) and I don't see any reason to upgrade to the latest versions.

According to yahoo's instructions, I have tried to patch CIMCOEdit.exe version 7.0.25 and it seems to work nicely. Use your preferred binary editor (I have used PSPad in binary mode) and modify these bytes: file offset: original content: replace with: 0x94B95 0F 87 90 E9 0x94C57 0F 85 70 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0x94C64 0F 8D 63 FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90 0x94C79 0F 84 4E FF FF FF 90 90 90 90 90 90I haven't tried to modify CimcoDNE.exe as I'm only using the editor (and its very nice gcode simulator), but the procedure described by yahoo shall also work on that file. Main improvement in v7, the simulator has now a 'solid animation' mode, i.e. now you can step in the gcode and see the result of each step on the solid result (in previous version, the solid result always displayed the final result of the complete job and only the tool path was animated while stepping or running). Download link for original version 7.0.25 : http://www.cimco.com/products/download/CIMCO_70025.exeOf all the GCode simulators that I have tried so far, CIMCO is one of the easiest to use with very good results. For example a lot of simulators fail on helical moves, but no problem with CIMCO (and yes, I use helical moves in my programs...)

I have written a little tool that will allow to apply the solution described by yahoo to any compatible version of CIMCO. After having installed CIMCO, run my little tool. Select the CIMCOEdit.exe and CimcoDNE.exe executables in the directory where you have installed CIMCO and it will patch them for you. Tested with 7.0.25 and 6.20.36; shall work with any compatible future version.
All the credit goes to yahoo, I have just automated his method. I don't know how his method works, but I know that it works.
Note that after applying yahoo's method, when your run CIMCO after patching, you will still see a text at the bottom of its main window saying that it is a demo, as well as a text in the about dialog saying that the demo has expired. Don't worry, even with these messages you have now a fully functional CIMCO Edit without expiry date.
EDIT: download link no more valid, go to reply #29 for an updated one.

The newest version of CIMCO to date that I post this is 7.50.13 The link from CIMCO is: http://www.cimco.com/products/download/CIMCO_75013.exeThis post applies to the following parts of it: CimcoDNC.exe (Sub is F3C0) CIMCOEdit.exe (Sub is BC8B0) DNCAdmin.exe (Sub is 65B10) DNCMax.exe (Sub is 538E0) DNCMaxCtrl.exe (Sub is 108D0) DNCMaxServiceManager.exe (Sub is 18DF0) I have inspected all of the above programs in Ida Pro 6.5 and a few hex editors to show they use the same process. Thanks to the previous posts and especially "yahoo"! I appreciate it! All of the above sub addresses (and this post) apply to version 7.50.13. Example from CIMCOEdit- CIMCOEdit.exe- {Assembly code instruction explanation} Original- JA LOC_BC9AE ADDRESS: SUB_BC8B0+45 (BC8F5) JNZ LOC_BC92D ADDRESS: SUB_BC8B0+107 (BC9B7) JGE LOC_BC92D ADDRESS: SUB_BC8B0+114 (BC9C4) JZ LOC_BC92D ADDRESS: SUB_BC8B0+129 (BC9D9) Modified- BC8F5: NOP BC8F6: JMP BC9AE BC9B7: NOP NOP NOP NOP NOP NOP BC9C4: NOP NOP NOP NOP NOP NOP BC9D9: NOP NOP NOP NOP NOP NOP They all reference the same ASM code and the same sub. You can take the sub address and add 45, 107, 114, or 129 (IN HEX, NOT DECIMAL) and you will get the address of the value you need to change. It looks like all 6 of those files use the same code, and can be modified the same way. I didn't do much research info the ASCII for the DEMO Version name but you could just search that in the file if it changes address anyway, it only has one location. I attached a more detailed text file. Enjoy!

Newest version as of 5/10/15: http://www.cimco.com/products/download/CIMCO_75501.exeOr for just the Editor: http://www.cimco.com/products/download/CIMCOEdit_75501.exeFor CIMCOEdit.exe ONLY: CIMCO EDIT V7.5 (75501) ORIGINAL BITS- 0XBEF35: 0F 87 0XBEFF7: 0F 85 70 FF FF FF 0XBF004: 0F 8D 63 FF FF FF 0XBF019: 0F 84 4E FF FF FF MODIFIED BITS- 0XBEF35: 90 E9 0XBEFF7: 90 90 90 90 90 90 0XBF004: 90 90 90 90 90 90 0XBF019: 90 90 90 90 90 90 If you need DNC, search the other 5 exe files for these values. They're there with the same values and offsets. This hex edit will give you the CIMCOEdit.exe , which is most of what anyone uses.

By the way, my little tool posted beginning of last year (post #22) is still able to find automatically the offsets that need to be patched and so is able to patch the latest version of CIMCOEdit. It will probably also work with the next versions as they still keep the same verification routines from one version to the other. So if you don't like to play with a binary editor, feel free to use it to patch your latest downloaded evaluation version of CIMCOEdit. As the link in my post of last year is dead, a new link to download the little tool is attached.

Thanks b555b, I wasn't trying to put you down or anything, I actually had forgot about that, I was just contributing with what i had. I don't think i could DL it when i first saw it for whatever reason, got it this time, haven't ran it yet but the code looks like it would work until they change something major. I like using the hex editor and checking it out when i change the bits, find the jmp at least half of the times i do it (hobbies, geez lol). Thank you for the great working and clean resource! Thanked. -Professor_Bidoof
