Title: TDA7294 - PCB project
Post by: Catcatcat on April 02, 2023, 07:18:09 07:18

This is only an open PCB design in Altium Designer. Implement it while I have no opportunity.

Two things I noticed and it is regarding the use of the heat sinks. It is much more efficient cooling wise to place the component in the center of the heat sink. Your placement is kind of sub optimal. Also what kind of enclosure do you plan to use? Be sure to not block the airflow at the top. With your setup finding/making a suitable enclosure may be difficult.  I did a search on google for TDA 7294. And if it was me this kind of the design approach I would have leaned towards. The components more centered on the heat sink and also letting the heat sink be the back plate of the enclosure. I would probably put also have put some feet on the enclosure say around 20 mm for airflow purpose. Having a separate board for  the two channels nah that is up to the designer.

I'm not planning anything yet, I used the components that are available. But the Chinese broke me off, banned the assembly of printed circuit boards and the shipment of components to Ukraine. So, I think this project will remain only in the project. :D

It is a shame... do you need any help getting them? Just let me know, will do whatever I can to help.

Amplifiers are connected in chain. I think this is made for easy routing. What degree of sound quality degradation do you expect?
Do you have links to any study of such configuration?
Is this "combo" meant to drive a subwoofer?

No, I'm not doing research, this is just a project. Yes, it can be used for subwoofer.
