Mikrobasic still at the begining  but i think after one year it will be the best

So they still haven't sorted out the bugs/issues that plauged earlier versions I tested (version 4.xx)? I mean it's up to version 7 something now so it's not a new product.

I am with PicBasic 7 or 8 years and there are a lot of projects behind me. In my opinion it is reliable for small and big projects. Now it is a little bit behind other competitors, but i hope it will get up to date.
Best regards.

I've used Pic Basic Pro for several projects (and also many small routines where I just needed a pic to pulse a couple of lines etc.) and I have never (touch wood!) found any bugs in it. So, for me, I like to use it if I need to create code that I can depend on. Has anybody found any bugs in the most recent version?

I've created some large (ish)  pieces of code where I have filled up most of a 16F877, and haven't had any problems with it.

Freddy.

Based on my experience , PIC Basic Pro is not the best tool for novice.  Try MikroBasic, it comes with many common hardware libraries.
For experienced users, I suggest to use Proton basic plus P-ICD instead of PIC basic Pro.

I have done projects that are huge.  Because PBP works so well I haven't bothered cleaning up and rationalising my code - so the progams generally compile a lot larger that they needed to if I had written them efficiently.  Generally errors are caused by making simple mistakes - or by not understanding some of the subtle syntaxes that some of the commands are capable of.............
