Hi All,

I am planning to buy Micsig CP503B current probe (0 to 30A 50Mhz bandwidth) for switching power supplies testing. It is relatively low in price compare with other manufacturers.

https://www.micsig.com/CP1003/

Does any one using this current probe? How the accuracy and reliability? please share your experience and comments.

Thanks,
Sat

For that price you can get an old and great Tektronix probe.

We purchased two of these at my work and tried them. We compared them to some other current probes we have, and we also tested them by putting them in-line with a current sense resistor. In the end we decided not to use them. The problem was they had a real delay in their response, and that delay was very variable. So we could never get them to line up with other measurements in the circuit, because even if we allowed for the delay, it seemed to change based on apparently random factors. It made them very difficult to use.
