Everybody closed up in their homes. Have an account to share and contribute in this forum.

We also lifted all the active mutes and warnings. That means if you had mute before, now you don't. Use your account carefully this time.

Removing all the mutes was a good decision. But registration is now open to all and not on invitation. Isn't this like opening a gate between two countries where no passport is needed now. We have a lot good contents which are not available else where.  Sorry if i am wrong.

First, thank you for the unmute!!

I was unmuted on 05 of April and the next day i was warned for no posting...

Just to let you know.
I don't know if your intention was just move Muted to Warned, or it's just a coincidence that someone see a login from someone without post on the last several years and warned him.

Anyway i will try to be helpful and increase my activity on the forum.

I've tried to send this message by the contact form (http://www.sonsivri.to/forum/index.php?action=contact) but every time i enter on the confirm URL the web shows this error "There is no contact us message with these details. You should have to try from beginning."

Best Regards

Your mute was lifted before site was opened, the warning was just that, all members must be active.

Ahmed_k I will lock topic if you want me to. your not obliged to supply a fix.
Users with zero credit don't need to be fed, if you get PM's I will Mute the User.

With Registration Being Open: That Does Not Mean You Don't Need To Follow Rules of the Site:
There is Only one Rule : Read The Rules: No First Post Asking For Fix

Plus No Asking For Anything via PM - This will Get You A Mute

Not now... will wait for few days. We'll see if the requesting member is having at least 50 posts or is in the forum since 2-3 years can be given the licenses. Other requests can just be ignored with a reply post not to post again which may get him a mute.
I have permissions to lock the thread. In case you feel it is required, either Pickit2, or any one of us can Lock it without my consent. However i always abide to be with the decisions which are taken for the betterment of Sonsivri.

in my point of view open registration is not good decision as lot of eye,s which want access to forum will come and join easily, when i was moderator at Electroda we have set a standard that minimum 50 post user with useful and meaning full post can only access the ebook and software section.
i think put back the invitation system which good for the safety of the forum and also safe from flooded post and open registration should be closed and only invitation method will allow.

I have requested sonsivri to limit as to what new members can access.

Looking at the quality of New and Unmuted Members:

Can I say we need a 5 posts of value to see links.
I muted a new user for flood posting a topic and repeated requests via PM system.
He just went and got another free account. something is wrong.

Dual Accounts are not an option.

If you set up more than one Account all Accounts to that user will be Blocked.

I would kindly suggest at least 20 or 30 posts to see the links. Until then he is newbie. The second option of blocking the user with more than one account is welcome idea.

I'm sorry if i'm talking about things i should not, but, wouldn't giving/renewing/increasing the availabe invitations to users with a respectable post count and/or presence on the forum, be a safer option? I mean, it is my belief that users who care about this place, also want to see it grow (healthily).

I'm only suggesting this due to what seems to be happening with registrations on this post.

Despite my suggestion, I'm happy to see our forum do things to help with Covid 19  Smiley

Wish you all the best,

New members need to make a few posts before becoming a full member.
The New zero posters will be dealt with. they soon show their true colours.

I must say I am disappointed. Most of the new members do not post, They just want freebies. So forcing them to post something usefull before seeing links is a good plan. By the way my invitation credits are gone fo some reason

you have invited 51 members. I think it is better to invite only members you know.

I wish that we can implement some automated feature like monitoring new users activities (post count) if new user is inactive for some period his account will be suspended , so he cannot login anymore until he is invited again

lol I was joking, you can only invite someone by reading their request for membership.
I use this often when I warn members to start posting.
I was just deleting some of my PM's and it said

you have 1629 messages, 0 are new.
You have made 4301 posts (more than 50% are useless)

So I can't understand why users can't make a few posts, you look at a zero posters profile and time in forum is 20days 15hours xxxx

As for any member no posts in the last year account removed, with message try harder next time.

But hey look on the bright side we have so many new members, most have not been in since last week, but When they do visit again, we will have tons on posts to read.

I invite people if they can deliver a good application. But well most of them turn out to be worthless, I must sadly confess to that fact. But still I think the invite system have and will be important part of recruiting new members to the forum.

That's all you can do.

Post Updated #1

when registration was opened we had close to 650 new accounts.
I see many wanted 2 or more accounts, I have muted and will mute any others I find:
If you made a mistake and took 2 accounts PM me before your Account is Muted

out of all the new members 98% have made zero postings (these accounts will not last)
plus one made 20 posts not one of any merit:

All members must be active:
Members are judged by the value of their posts.
