Hi,

Anybody has/had experience (or owns) with this device?

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Andonstar-Digital-USB-HDMI-AV-Microscope-ADSM302-5-inch-Built-in-Display-High-Object-Distance-THT/32853863793.html?spm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.262.c5pnyQ

From the reviews I've read it seems a good device.
I use an ADSM201 at work (works a treat when hw debugging prototypes) and it works very well, had some problems with the lights (intermittent working) but the seller sent me free of charge the whole stand as replacement. I like very much that the focus of ADSM201 is very forgiving I wonder how it is on ADSM302.

I want one for myself, what I like is that this seller send devices from Germany which mean no import duties so I'm leaning to buy it but as with any Chinese device it's a lottery and I will appreciate any 1st hand information's on the bad especially Smiley . Thanks!

Hi

I have the ADSM201 and have the same issue with light ,
All the rest is working well
I considering to add a 7'' external display - currently sold for about 70 $ connected via HDMI in order to have a better display

the current price of the ADSM302 is a bit high at this time although ''Bengood'' sell it for lower price,

All the best

Hi,

At work I use a 24" monitor just for ADSM201 Smiley
Regarding ADSM302, if I had (personally) an ADSM201 I would not make the upgrade (feature wise) but since I want to buy a new one for myself I like to buy the newest thing (of course, not if it has serious issues).

Banggood price is depending on the area you are. In my case the price is about the same as the one found on Aliexpress (Ali price is 295USD but shipping can be made from Germany, therefore no taxes).

I was looking also on ADSM301 for which the price is really lower than ADSM302 but I can't understand why ...

Whether you have some patience price will drop in few month time as this a bit of expansive item and no one rush to buy it
All the best

What about lag? I found out for myself that a delay between motion of instrument in my hand and motion that I see on display significantly disturbs me. I doubt that this parameter is ever specified for such devices. That is why I prefer optics.
What is your experience with these devices regarding lag, gentlemen?

With ADSM201 that I use at work, I can't see the lag you are talking about. I know that this is subjective, though. And it depends also on the amount of light you have, the FPS drop if the light is low.

What I like the most is that the focus is really smooth and I can do it fast.

I saw a video on youtube with ADSM201 and 19" monitor - the lag was about third of second (subjectively). Do you say about lag-free on built-in display? That would be enough for me. I use the following method to measure a lag by hand - to shake tweezers decreasing period until image becomes in antiphase.

Actually , the only time I saw lag on an external LCD (I don't use the builtin display at all, it's too small - I use an 24" external LCD) was when the ambient light was low and the Andonstar lights were not pointed toward the area where the camera was oriented.

Therefore, when the light that come to the camera is low, you'll get lag. But if the light is enough, there is no lag that I can see. If I have to do rework on a prototype, i have complete confidence in ADSM201.
I was asking about ADSM302 only because I was looking for something better not because ADSM201 was bad. DSM201 is enough for my needs but my life philosophy is that if I can get something better then I don't buy the lesser.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion, others might see it differently.

I liberated a Adam201 from the workshop stores and never got to open the box.
it ended up at home, still in the box, I must dig it out.

at work we had 3 201's and a few video cameras on the cnc milling machines.
the repair benches used the video camera from a unused milling machine.
with the software you had a crossair that you could mark a place on the board.
the users could do all kinds of magic.
