Let's hope I am wrong, but from what I saw on microchip's website, I understand that the peripheral library for application is no longer working with C18 as it is considered obsolete, add to it that the latest release is compatible with XC8 and only supports WiFi rather than ENC28j60. C18 is no longer available or maintained, so it is a waste of time using it along with the legacy peripheral library for application. What is the actual solution to this, did microchip bring sth new that I have not mentioned here?

Anyone has XC8 working code for ENC28J60 and some PIC18F chip?

I had a similar issue, used the stack listed here:
http://www.microchip.com/forums/m795812.aspx

You can download it from:
http://www.microchip.com/mplab/microchip-libraries-for-applications

Under "Downloads Archive"

I couldn't understand what Microchip aimed with these all stuffs. The documentation is awful for me. Some stuffs are related to C18, some others are related to XC8, some peripheral libraries are not still updated etc etc etc.. So I am going with CCS C. It is result-focused and it works perfectly for any peripheral.
