hi

i am looking for a replacement for t2117 it is a  Zero-Voltage Switch with Adjustable Ramp i have ducked and google it but without
any luck. the use is as a temperature controller for soldering iron. Maybe someone else know anything about this. i attached schematics
to look at.

Did you try the U217B IC?

i am firstly looking for a in production chip since u217b is not in production anymore either i have found t2117 in some shop
but its somewhat expensive and not in production anymore so at first i would like to see if i could find a chip thats a bit
cheaper and in production, if i cant find any i would consider to get an old chip.

are you interested in a mcu-based solution? Basically, AVR. Also take at this thread

BTW, you might find TCA785 usable, although discontinued in  13 Apr 2015, you should be able to find stock somewhere.

What i am looking for is to get a newer soldering station instead of my old homebuilt one which is an old
50 watt magnastat with a transformer. I would like one that has variable temp conrol and was looking to build
something to use with wxp80, wxp120, wxhap200 and similar tools from weller. Weller is expensive and i like the
tools they got, money is tight and i got time so i dont mind building a solution for this.

What i would want of it is to have variable temp control and a display of temperature, preferable thru hole i got loads
 of those components and i can make my own pcb's i got the things for this and the chemicals.

I dont know if an IC like the Intersil ISL6753 (in production) can help you in the design.

man.. I am willing to do a similar thing. Do you have documents that describe how to power them, read the temperature? I can do it as well, but with an MCU which is more flexible and can sum all functions in one IC too.

I can port GLCD code done by xpress_embedo to STM32, I can also PWM and ADC with DMA as well, I just need to know which one to buy and how to control it. I can also do the PCB, no pb...

The soldering equipment i am looking at is driven by 24VAC that's the only thing i know so far since i don't have the
soldering iron yet, so i haven't been able to see/measure the sensor output. i was looking at a similar projects, one that
uses a DC soldering iron from weller "platino" the other one is a universal controller. i added all into a collection you
you can download. you already know the password.

i found another file i have collected for this sorta project it's a simpler relay controlled and internal sensor in soldering iron
i dont know much more than that
