Does your scope fall within this recall? http://www.tek.com/service/safety/tds210-tds220

If so, maybe just send it back to Tek for a free repair and have them upgrade the firmware?

I had sent you for calling just bought.
But this happened 15 years ago.
I saw that there are two versions, one with EPROM and one with flash to update.
The latest version I think is the 1.17, my current is 1.09

The Tektronix page says that the recall is "ongoing".

Quote
This ongoing recall applies to TDS 210 and TDS 220 oscilloscopes with serial numbers falling within one of the following ranges

Because the potential fault is so dangerous I'm sure they would fix it if the recall hasn't already been done.  Is your serial number one of the affected models?

When I purchased the oscilloscope the same week was sent in tektroniks for recall.
Now after many years, I would like to update the firmware if possible.

Have you already asked Tek? It seems like they would be the best source for this.  Even for Rigol I have to request the firmware to be sent to me via email.

Good idea, I'll try to contact the Tek and ask for the opportunity to send the firmware.
I have a doubt because the firmware is written in an internal memory and not think in Rigol that is loaded from a USB flash drive external
Hopefully the Tek me to send the same.
