Simplify3D: Integrated 3D Printing Software
http://www.simplify3d.com/

You can find a dubious "Simplify3D Full 2.1.0", but it isn't stable and it doesn't support new 3D printers.
There are no trial versions from simplify3d.com. Their latest release is version 2.2.1 .

Thanks.

I have the paid version.
It needs a product key to install and activate.

Frankly I think Cura is better except in prints where support structures are needed.

They are very active in removing any links, that includes version 2.1
they don't even give a demo version, very untrusting of their customers.

Version 2.1.0, personally tested.

I use Repetier host with Slicer and Cura, i prefer them to simplify 3D.
I find it absurd that do not provide a demo / trial, you can not pay a software like this without being able to try.

Since 3.0 they implemented the "feature" that you only get printer settings if you have an account.

I tried to change legacy graphics mode and G-code preview quality to low but unable to success

It's not for Makerbot, but this is a useful collection of profiles for Cura  and Simplify3D that i found on github.

Got it running successfully in Arch Linux.

I would add a step 4 to the Linux instructions: "chmod +755 ./libInterface.so" to avoid the error "./Simplify3D: error while loading shared libraries: libInterface.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

I bought Simplify3d and it was working all right on linux for most of the time. Recently I am having problem with login to the program, as there are some issues with their drm. For more you can look here https://www.change.org/p/simplify3d-remove-the-drm-licensing-model-from-simply3d-software/c. Basically I cannot use s3d anymore and their costumer service is very slow at responding to the emails.  I downladed S3D311 folder from Bamsalts post, I installed it but it still ask me for login and password information- any chance for some kind of instructions- I am on ubuntu based distro but anything would be helpful, thanks

opss, sorry I missed the universal patch folder, I am licensed as a God know, thanks for the step four... bloody Drm

It has quite a few changes from V3.
V4 adds the ability to print at different layer sizes for parts of a print that need more detail .  Before you could do it but it was all manual and you had to know where in the model in mm to set up different processes.
The gap fill is also much better.

I like others bought the product but the licensing scheme sucks , you get two installs with the license on different machines, but if you don't deactivate one license you can't install it on even the same machine after a reinstall of the OS.  Their sales team can be emailed to fix it but it is an annoyance.

Simplify3D v4.1.0, X86 and X64 version new patch, with the previous patch it is possible to have problems of missed slicing.
If you have installed previous versions of simplify3d you need to uninstall them and delete all the related folders before installing version 4.1.

Question was sorta ask above but as a total noob, is it possible to run Configuration Assistant (without a logon).

Edit. I see how to import a factory file (.fff), is that the same as running the Configuration Assistant

After installing software and patch (.reg and dll file), selecting configuration assistant under the help menu brings up a login window (with login name GOD and no password).  How do I select a 3D printer?

Unfortunately in Simplify3d printer profiles can only be obtained through the manufacturer's server, i.e. it is necessary to have a regular license.
The alternative is to search online for a profile ready for your printer, for the most common the manufacturers themselves make them available, or create it by manually entering the various parameters.

@xwing

"..or create it by manually entering the various parameters."

Do you need a valid license to create a custom printer? If not, how to do that?  (ah 7 years of secondary education and my exquisite grammar called into play)

A valid license is not required to create a print profile, it is only needed to download the ready profiles created by them from the Simplify 3D server.
The "cured" version of the program blocks access to the server, in order to avoid deactivating the program remotely.
The easiest way to create a new profile is to use the default one, modify the various parameters as needed, save it with a new name using the export profile function.
Another way is to start from a ready profile, they are easily found, of a printer similar to ours and modify it.
It goes without saying that to create a printing profile it is essential to have a minimum of knowledge of how a 3d printer works and how to act on the various parameters that determine its operation.

Found profile (.fff file) for BIBO 3D printers here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B76TjeOkslHlZ2VBLXBSdzJYdms/view

Anyone have the profiles for a Dremel 3B45 or a QIDI X-max?  If you have access to their profile library, you can export the profile into a .fff file.

Thanks!

Simplify3D 5 is out, https://www.simplify3d.com/products/simplify3d-software/whats-new/version-5-0/, there are many new features, but nothing really new that is not already present in other free slicers such as Cura or PrusaSlicer.

Simplify3D publishers obviously mismanaged a lot of stuff and, long neglected what was once considered reliable and innovative software. It is also obvious they are minding the dollar instead of their commitment to those who already own a license from them. That being said, I am not in a hurry to come to a verdict before giving it a try. The slicer scene is prone to so many changes. Eventually, it may even become a function of the OS but there is still a long way towards standardization.

I've only used the previous version briefly then moved on the Prusaslicer. The new features would seem to make it worth reexamination but not worth so much cash.

Hi, is there any patch out for Simplify3d 5.0 yet.

For the moment there is no patch to try it, but I've seen several reviews on youtube and I don't think it's worth wasting time, in the end it does nothing more than what free slicers like Cura and Prusalicer offer.
Probably the only point in favor of Simplify3d 5 is that it seems to be slightly faster, we are talking about 5-10% better, than other slicers.
