It's a little funny......

In present day, there are lot of circuits seen designed on flexible pcb. Looks like the trend is becoming popular day by day. Flexible PCB is veru much demanded in designing wearable product these days.

I use Eagle to make pcb. I know everything required to know for designing 2 layer rigid PCB. But I am planning to start designing flexible pcb as well. Searching in the internet I didn't find any appropriate tutorial, points to design flexible pcb.

If you have any tutorial materials or link for designing flexible pcb, please post it here. I think it will be helpful for others as well.

Altium Designer seems to have a focus on flex PCB design, you can check it out.

On a related note, if your flex circuit can be a simple 2-layer board, you might consider a much cheaper FR4. Normally we think of FR4 as being rigid, however many PCB houses offer very thin flexible FR4 (they just use a different prepreg with no sold core). We have samples at my work, and for many applications it offers the benefits of flex (because it's flexy!) but at a much lower cost.

bigtoy,

That´s a very interesting! I will check this on monday. I was "locked" on flex, but this can be a very cool and cheap(er) solution.

Mega uk... have flexible laminates with a 35um copper layer and photosensitive resist ...so can be etched in the same way as their FR4.

On the downside...it is not cheap. £23 + vat for a 300 x 500mm sheet.

I have success in making my own flex PCB by sticking copper sheet on kapton tape, then process to etch like normal PCB.
You need somewhat aggressive etchant to ensure quick etch so that the adhesive does not detach while etching.
Cheap and easy solution.
