Good Afternoon all:
I am currently working on laying out project 8 & 9 from sparkfun with Eagle Cad. This is from their training files section and is a good tutor on how Eagle works. This project is for a USB to TTL converter using a $3 FTDI chip and will be used with windows programs to program Ham radio and Commercial transceivers.
I have also layed out an RS232 to TTL interface. This interface will be used for DOS based programs that are required by some software packages. It also programs Ham radio and Commercial transceivers.
I would be happy to make these available if they would be of use to others. Please post here.

As far as I know there is a chip from FTDI which is a stand alone USB to TTL converter. It's the FT245R. You can chose the IO-lines by pin either for 3,3V or 5V. And RS232 to TTL can easily be done by MAX232. There are a lot of designs out the there but if yours is something special please feel free to post it  |

Well I was going to use the FT232R which gives TTL and RS232 outputs. Also in response to Puta I tend to not purchase something I can build myself. Partly because I dont have a lot of money but mostly because I love to build projects... even to the point of designing and etching my own PCBoards. So I just thought it was a natural to offer it to others.
Like some here I dont have the resourses to post a lot of books and stuff so I try to add to the bottom line where I can.

I never use PL2303 .... i have one and under SP3 stop work   Answers from Prolific  Prolific does not manufacture or sell any end-user products (particularly cables or enclosures) and does not provide support or email to end-users.
