I am trying to identify an 18pin DIP microcontroller in a circuit.  The details I know about the chip from the circuit are thus:
VDD @ pin 12, VSS @ pin 9, reset @pin 11, pins 7&8 were used for ADC input. other pins as I/o ports.

I know that PIC microcontroller has pin14 as vdd and vss at pin 5, reset / MCLR at pin 4 for 18pin configuration.

Anyone know the family of this microcontroller with the pin details. Physically,  it looks like regular 18pin dip picmicro eg pic16f628.

Any idea on the date of manufacture, that might help limit the manufactures down as well as series...

Also it could be proprietary...

microchip and others will & do supply custom wire from ic die, to chip header/carrier.

Yep, quite common so that parts are universal for legacy products aka drop in replacement for out of production (or shared production) parts so that a board re-design isn't necessary...

I never thought of the possibility of  custom wire of pins from a manufacturer like microchip. Now i know it's possible.

I forgot to add that the chip uses an internal oscillator to function.

underneath the chip, LQ7A1023N is printed while "GO" is embossed centrally.

Did you find the IC as part of a specific circuit?

Yes, it was part of a specific circuit board. I've studied it and implemented with Microchip pic. obviously,  was a custom chip
