I don't know if that'll help, but go on Instructables and search "Micro LASER Show with a CD Lens Mechanism". They use the focusing mechanism of a CD drive to create a two dimensional laser projector (using Arduino).

I'm really surprised that one have to register to download the pdfs. A few days ago I downloaded some pdfs just clicking the download button. It must be something new.
I'm sorry but I don't have the above mentioned file.

You know, if you are doing something unconventional, it helps EVERYONE to know what you are trying to do, especially when an accelerometer can be bought for under $1.

Again, third time - what are you trying to do?

Post the articles - you haven't shared ANYTHING yet since you've been here that I can see, so you can at least post the stack of reference material you've found so far on this bizarre implementation. Members can learn from it, and gain insight in what you are trying to do, vs saying "accelerometer" all the time. What's the application, where does the information go, how sensitive does it have to be, what kind of noise environment and on and on and on if you don't define the app?

This site is not about helping just an individual, it's for everyone to learn something along the way. It's for someone in the future to have insight on a way to do something when they do a search. Otherwise we'd all be PMing each other (forbidden by rules for a reason) and nobody would know anything new. Even the requests for papers are for EVERYBODY, not just the requester.

Once we see what you are trying to do, we can stop guessing and try to provide an answer. Otherwise, you'll remain at the dead end you're at now.

The first hit in Google says how to make an accelerometer with a pickup. Is this what you want: http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/login.jsp?tp=&arnumber=5229966&url=http%3A%2F%2Fieeexplore.ieee.org%2Fxpls%2Fabs_all.jsp%3Farnumber%3D5229966  ?

Or do we have to keep guessing?

Interesting. Do you have references 8-13 that you can post?

Hi solutions
I cant find these refrences :
may you upload here?
Development of an optical accelerometer with a DVD pick-up head
Simultaneous detection of translational and angular displacements of micromachined elements
Interferometry with optical pickups
Fast one-dimensional profilometer with a compact disc pickup

Suggest you request them over in the papers section and bring them into the topic as a hidden posting. Don't put your material out in the open. I'm pretty sure this topic will wake up after people read the material.

Would you mind rehosting to mediafire? Your host is demanding an upgrade to Firefox, which spells disaster as they only seem to go downhill with every new release. thanks
