Hello!

Here is a simulation video of my project PIC18F46J50 based USB HID and SD datalogger.

members who went to that site (edaboard) you referenced here (which I removed) thought that sim2.rar is the code, and then it appears to be the video and you were gaining points over there. I am really annoyed because I received many reports on this issue.

You are responsible for your posts, and when I see that you made a misleading post, then I will kick your ass from here, straight and simple.

Your project is interesting. You have some information of like do you use the SD card or more detail about project.

Do you use the library FAT16 or 32?. I think you use mikroC or...?

If you have made a datalogger, this one is not for other usage?   To parse your file structure is not so easy. I propose you to change your file structure like:
[time stamp] [temp] /[type]
....

or other format which can easy read by Excel, Matlab, LabView, or other virtual instrumentation

Your project has some very useful features to it and shows promise.

I'd like to make a suggestion about logging also.  I'm with flo0319 on this one... format the log output to a standard "syslog" style.

There are a lot of log parsers out there that could iterate over your output and create some data visualization... such as a graph
using RRDtool.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RRDtool and MS Chart Control, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14422

You could even use a template system to create multiple styles of output... as if you didn't have enough to do already

Another item worth mentioning... create a header for the log file indicating your logging conditions and environment, such as 'date',
'starttime', 'uptime', 'template used', 'code version', etc etc.  Use a hash, "#", character at the beginning of the line to indicate it's a comment
and not data.

You get the idea.  You will thank yourself later

I will write an article about my project soon and I will post it. It used SD card also. Every day at HH:MM 00:00 it creates a file with filename of that date, like 08122012.TXT.

Then it starts logging data every 5min/ 30min depending upon the selection.

Data is logged like
