You need to be careful with RTV. It'll really mess up some sensors.

O2 sensor for automotive comes immediately to mind, which needs to run HOT

Just for my knowledge, what aspects of the RTV will mess up some sensors?  Is it the acetic acid that is the concern or something else (like simple penetration of the RTV into the sensor) that goobers stuff up?
