I’m using avr’s atmega8 mc…done some blinky type programs, burnt into flash and also ran on it with the burner circuit shown in attachment.. it worked fine with ponyprog… now I’m gonna make a program that requires to program some fuse bits… but one of my friend told me that with this burner when he tried to burn fuse bits, his atmega8’s been locked… so I’m afraid to use it anymore…. So could anyone of u pls suggest me a burner that can be made easily and capable of burning fuse bits…I’d be happy with serial burners.my pc doesn’t have any parallel port.. usb burners (like: usbasp) usually requires another mc to be firmwired first… that’s a problem…. Found some ckt on net but nobody says abt fuse bits.. waitting for reply..

Dear Tahmeed,
Please refer the link http://www.sonsivri.com/forum/index.php?topic=10474.0

Always ensure that SPIEN bit in the appropriate FUSE BYTE (probably FUSE HIGH BYTE) must be set to '0' ==> Programmed. By default it is '0' so don't make it '1' or unprogrammed.
