Simple project but it works very good. I made two souch thermometers and both work.

It can display temperatures in the range -55°C - 125°C (-58°F - 257°F). This is accomplished by a digital sensor DS1822 with a 1-Wire interface manufactured by Dallas Semiconductor (now a part of Maxim). This sensor contains a pretty decent electronics including ADC, several registers for storing temp and alarm values, CRC codes, configuration bits, etc. It provides a 12-bit temperature resolution of 0.0625°C, which enables to reliably display temperatures with one decimal digit.

I found schematics and hex on web, I designed PCB's in Eagle.

Files in attachment: hex for PIC16F628A, sch and brd files for Eagle PCB, pictures of complete device, pdf document about project.
Hope someone finds this project useful.

Nice project indeed..Visiting the said website, One will find two vesions of .asm codes too (which are not included in the Zif file) with schematics of better resolution. By the way PCB layouts are not found on the website, where your layouts come handy and truely useful. But i would request you to post the layouts in PDF or Gerbers files too as everyone may not have acess to Eagle formats.

How about the pins connecting the two PCBs, can you post more photos, what did you use?

- Concerning connection between two boards, when I designed PCB I planed to use molex connectors. I needed to buy those connectors but I could not find them in local electronic stores so I decided not to use connectors and I soldered solid copper wires. Since everything worked OK I never needed to separate two boards so I never replaced wires with connectors.

- I am not able to make more photos soon since thermometers are not installed at my home.
