Hi
My new hobby is arm cortex-m3 and I'm interested in making a video player.
I want to know is there a lib or project in this area?
my fav micro is lpc1768

Austria microsystems have a new range of ARM9 based mcus for audio and video...I was looking at using one to produce an I2S stream for a high end dac feeder.

Hi
Cortex M3 & M4 don't have the power to run H264 decoder - to week for the task
You will need cortex A8 or other strong processor to run H264 decoder

The video codec is not very important any other video format is good.
I just want some video displayed on the colorful lcd.

Hi

Take the stm32F2xx or F4xx this new device have camera interface - so all you need is to connect a camera chip And an LCD
to display picture - you can buy the the ST evaluation  board and download a demo code from ST site

I have used the STM32F2xx and 4xx. It is easy to connect to an LCD interface. For decoding video you need a lot of CPU cycles, and preferably a dedicated hardware block decoder. Something simple like motion-jpeg with low resolution is probably possible. The demos I've seen simply display a series of BMP (bitmap) files.
